Kemp has been a Principal at Cushman & Wakefield | Commercial Advisors, LLC since 2007. Leading the Asset Services business from 2007-2017, revenues increased 215%, net income quadrupled, employee growth doubled and 28 MSF of product was added. At this time the firm began consistently being recognized locally as a top employer. Focused now on serving clients and growing the entire firm, Kemp’s six person team handles the real estate needs of long term occupier & investor clients. He has completed a wide variety of transactions in 35 states and 25 countries with especially deep knowledge of the Memphis market. Prior to joining the firm Kemp was the Memphis City Leader for Trammell Crow Co.
As a collaborator internally, Kemp serves on the Cushman & Wakefield Industrial & Supply Chain Executive Committee. This committee consists of only eight C&W brokers in the U.S. out of 600+. The committee serves as the Board of Directors for the North American industrial platform. He has been recognized as a C&W Industrial Top 20 producer multiple years and was awarded the Culture or Oneness Collaboration award in 2010 & 2018 for service to the platform-the only professional to be recognized twice. His passion in real estate is also exercised through service on the Advisory Board of the Arrowrock Growth & Income Fund (Funds 1-4) focusing on industrial investment in high growth markets. A passion for civic affairs and seeking the prosperity of Memphis led Kemp to serve on the Memphis City Council from 2008-2019, representing a super district of half the city (approximately 300,000 people). He was elected three times, and by his peers as Chairman in 2016 and 2019. Kemp currently serves the community through service on the Board of Directors of www.pureacademy901.com – an all boys Boarding School with an Agtech, STEM, & wellness focus. He also mentors two PURE students.
When not working, his time is invested in family (wife Anne of 25 years and children Kemp Jr. and Coco), yoga, alpine skiing, fitness, travel & mentoring youth. A lifelong learner, Kemp earned his sailing certification and advanced open water scuba diving certifications. An athlete, he started triathlon in 2020 and in 2021 earned bronze status as an Ironman All World Athlete. He has competed in the age group national championships in the sprint and olympic distance. In 2022 he raced four half iron events, earning silver status – that is the top 7% of athletes in his age group and qualified and raced in the 2022 Ironman 70.3 World Championships in St. George, UT.
