Tom Cowens

Tom Cowens joined Commercial Advisors in October 2022 as the Senior Vice President overseeing operations at Crosstown Concourse. Tom’s main responsibility in this role is to provide strategic leadership to both internal teams (property management, maintenance, accounting) as well as external service providers (security, HVAC, environmental services, IT, etc.) to optimize performance and maximize the value of this unique asset. He directs all aspects of Crosstown Concourse property management, including oversight of maintenance, lease administration, environmental services, HVAC, IT and security team. Tom works closely with the Crosstown COO to proactively improve the facility, operations and building efficiency. With over 30 years of experience in the real estate industry, he brings a variety of skills to this position.

Prior to joining Commercial Advisors, Tom spent twelve years with the Trammell Crow Company in Memphis, where he held various senior management positions within both their Management Services and Corporate Outsourcing Services (now GWS) divisions. Most recently, he was the COO of a private real estate development company specializing in the adaptive reuse of historic office buildings in the Southeast U.S. Before that, he spent nine years as Senior Vice President of Acquisitions for MAA, the largest multi-family REIT in the country, where he was involved with over $3.5B of acquisitions and dispositions. He has also held the position of Director of Real Estate for a growing national pet food retailer as well as Asset Manager for a niche shopping center developer. Mr. Cowens worked in the commercial banking industry for six years prior to joining Trammel Crow Company in 1992.
